Women of Faith and Books You’ll Love

Posted on September 6, 2014September 6, 2014 by Danielle

Soooo … This weekend I was in Philadelphia for the Women of Faith Conference. Don’t worry, if you didn’t get a chance to be there, you can do a few things to make up for it.

1. Check out these great reads from some of the speakers at From Survival to Revival.

341178: Unstoppable: Running the Race You Were Born To Win Unstoppable: Running the Race You Were Born To Win

In his letters, Paul calls us to run the race God sets before us. Inviting you to participate in the divine relay, Caine encourages you to run with the body of Christ, carry forward the baton of faith God entrusts to you, release it to the right runner, and claim the prize of eternal life. 224 pages, softcover from Zondervan.

947631: Twirl: A Fresh Spin at Life Twirl: A Fresh Spin at Life

Written by Patsy Clairmont, a recovering agoraphobic with a pronounced funny bone and Womem of Faith ® speaker, Twirl speaks to the dizziness created from the busyness of our overscheduled lives and reminds us that we are never too old or tattered for God to work in us. So…take a twirl with Patsy down the aisles of God’s grace and mercy and realign your spin on life.

921920: Overextended . . . and Loving Most of It! Overextended . . . and Loving Most of It!

Is your life stretched to the limit? Relying on scriptural insights and her humorous wit, Lisa Harper offers real-life vignettes to illustrate how burning the candle at both ends can glorify God – but only if we make time to rest in his sovereign mercy! Discover how God can expand your heart and calendar to accommodate his calling.

205851: The Best Yes: Making Wise Decisions in the Midst of Endless Demands The Best Yes: Making Wise Decisions in the Midst of Endless Demands

Having trouble deciding which situations deserve a “yay” and which a “nay?” Let Lysa TerKeurst help you discern the option that shapes all your other choices – the best yes! Offering Scripture-laced insights on effective decision-making, she encourages you to be honest, imaginative, focused, trusting, and humble as you discover the role God most wants you to play.

204878: The Storm Inside: Trade the Chaos of How You Feel for the Truth of Who You Are The Storm Inside: Trade the Chaos of How You Feel for the Truth of Who You Are

In Sheila Walsh’s book, The Storm Inside, she lets women know that they can grow in the midst of their everyday storms, no matter how they may feel. Constantly teetering between daily chaos and life-changing crisis, women often feel storms brewing, are in the middle of a storm, or are facing the aftermath of a storm. Through Scripture and the sharing of personal stories, Sheila shows how heartbreak can become strength, shame lead to love, restoration undo rage, and courage overcome insignificance.

The conference theme, “From Survival to Revival,” went right along with my latest study, “Seeking Him.”

413628: Seeking Him: Experiencing the Joy of Personal Revival Seeking Him: Experiencing the Joy of Personal Revival

Experience the joy that comes with personal revival! Did you know that revival means a complete transformation of your heart that impacts your home, church, and the world? In Seeking Him, Nancy Leigh DeMoss shows you the way toward freedom and the genuine holiness that comes from humility, repentance, and forgiveness. Each week of this 12-week interactive study has five days of individual study to be done at home, followed by group questions and testimonies. There’s also a “Making It Personal” section for you to delve into more questions and exercises. Paperback.

Coincedence?

I don’t think so.

Hey there, thanks for stopping by! My name is Danielle … radically redeemed and wildly loved by a Savior who’s teaching me that real is not perfect. In fact, I am learning that being real is quite messy.
