Today’s prayer doesn’t have a specific theme. In fact, it’s just a prayer I wrote in my quiet time this morning, because sometimes, I just need to pray.
I need you, God. I need fresh manna from You today. You are the Lord, the One who made all of heaven and the earth by Your great power. I bow before You, so very aware of how small I am in light of Your greatness.
Father, as the head of our home, my husband needs You. He needs the Holy Spirit to guide him in all truth as he leads our family in righteousness. Give him eyes to see and ears to hear You as he seeks Your will. Let him hear Your voice behind him saying this is the way, walk in it, especially when the road is not clear. Strengthen him physically to do the work You’ve called him to as our provider, and help me to be his helper and completer. Remind me that when I submit to him, I am submitting to You. Help us to work together to teach our children by way of our words and deeds to walk in Your truth. Help us when we are weary and discouraged to remember that Your grace is sufficient and Your mercies are new each day. Grant us a willing spirit to walk by faith when the road is difficult. Help us to give thanks in all things, especially the difficult ones, because we know that the testing of our faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that we will be mature and complete, not lacking anything. Help us to surrender our will today for Yours as we remember that obedience brings blessings, and will lead us to joy and fulfillment. May we walk freely today in Your forgiveness, love, and power as we glorify and honor You in all that we do and say.
